A Vision for World-Class, Affordable Healthcare

Recognizing the urgent need to transform the nation's healthcare delivery system, stakeholders from across the healthcare spectrum identified areas where concentrated action could drive sweeping change. The National Priorities and Goals address the greatest challenges facing the healthcare system: eliminating harm, eradicating disparities, reducing disease burden, and removing waste.

Through the National Priorities and Goals, the Partners are working to bring about safer, more affordable patient-centered healthcare. The collective action of the Partners on these six Priorities has the potential to create lasting change across the healthcare system. The Partners are laying out a roadmap for improvement, but everyone in the healthcare system must address and act on the Priorities and Goals for change to happen.

Every American, of every economic, social, or cultural class, deserves high-quality affordable healthcare. The Partners are urging everyone across the healthcare system not just to call for reform, but to enact it. The existence of a sense of shared responsibility around specific goals can transform the healthcare system. Acting on those goals will revolutionize it.

“As a nation, we cannot continue to tolerate such high levels of harm and suffering in the healthcare system, nor can we afford to waste billions of dollars on unnecessary and duplicative services.”
